2001 cherokee power window problem solved
We just bought a 2001 Cherokee for my son's graduating present..he was working on a broken wire to the drivers door speaker. He got that fixed but then the power windows would not work at all. Well long story short I looked at all the fixes and nothing was wrong. I took the master switch apart and wala I found the right rear window switch had been hit and knocked the switch contacts out of position. Relocated the contacts and it works. He must have hit that button a little hard trying to fix the speaker wires. So watch that.....

I would have resoldered everything while it was apart as cracked joints can be an issue as well. There are 22 of them. Took the driver side off mine and 6 of them were cracked. I resoldered all 22 of them. Cleaning the switch contacts is a good idea as well as they do get dirty. Mine were all black, but are all shiny silver now. Same with the rocker switch and D-pad contacts on the board. Another thing would be to take safety lock switch apart and clean it good. mine was sticky. The spring popped out of mine taking it apart, but was easy to figure out how it went back in. It is a bit fiddly tho. It worked much smoother afterwards.
All the door switches can benefit from a good cleaning, actually.
Forgot to mention a little "gotcha" with that safety lock when taking it apart. The white nylon block can get worn down where the little spring slides along. When this happens, the spring can pop out of its track. The button will still go up and down, but will not lock into position. It will pop back up. IF that happens, The only fix is a new nylon block from a donor switch.

He's referring to the driver's window controls, Kap. Since it can operate the other windows, it's the Master Switch. Bow down!
