Well I know that's not true! The earlier heads will fit just fine, you will just need an adapter for the manifolds to fit, runs about $100

as far as i know earlier 0630 heads can replace a 0331 head but you will need to fab a mount for the coil

let me be more clear. you will have to modify. you can not unbolt your 0331 head and bolt on a 0630 or 7120 head without modification.
new 0331 heads are very easy to buy and are not as expensive anymore

I'm looking at this very swap. What sort of modifications are we talking about?

Do what I did... buy an 0331 head from an '05 or later wrangler. Same head, direct bolt on, doesn't have the cracking issue! Everything bolts up, no adapters or fabbing brackets.

I got a used one with warranty and only 64k miles for $175 shipped.

My brother has a HO head off of a 95 in his shed. It's free. That's why I don't just buy a reman or used one.

The intake and throttle body are still bolted to it as well.
