Oh wow ok thats some really good info, im gunna look into it, i didnt know about the different types i knew there was a horrible organic type thow. I was just throwing in some full strength, not half an half, and adding some water *** needed, might have been doing more harm then good, i havent got the brown sludge or rad cap foam since the second rad blew out thow
All antifreeze in newer jeeps IS organic. In fact it is getting harder to find IAT(inorganic acid technology) antifreeze. OAT & HOAT is the devil if you don't maintain your coolant system. The old stuff would lose its effectiveness with age but it would not destroy your engine. Even though OAT is claimed to be "long life" I would change it every season.

So i have an update: i flushed my system thoroughly, i then switched over to zerex coolant which seems to be the lowest acidic level coolant out there, its roughly $18 a gallon, its seems that 50% of my problem has been fixed. Im pretty sure i have figured out the problem, the gasket between my water pump and the block it leaking, it looks wet and feels wet so it definitely is that i will be changing it when i have time next, i hope that solves the problem

I would presume in 35* weather u r using the heater which cools the coolant even more.......can't imagine the efan running in 35* ambient. How old is the water pump, fan clutch, t-stat? +/-$85 buys all 3 new.

T stat has been changed, but other 2 are original, clutch fan is still good i presume, it has little resistance and wont spin freely when off and cold. Whose water pump do you recommend, i went to dealer and they wanted $170 so i was like **** that i can buy 10 new water pumps before one of those, the flush really helped everything to do with cooling
Thanks for the good ideas and cheap alternatives ill definitely try the temp gauge checks... Tonight just driving around it was fine, it likes to run lower with the new rad, (one mark to the left of the 210 mark) but im just not sure why on some days even in 35 degree days it likes to run hot with the aux fan on quite often

I got a new water pump with a lifetime warranty from oreilly's for $37.00....quadratec has an OEM for $60...just don't buy a refurbished one. it's not worth saving the $15.00

Don't presume a 13 year old original fan clutch is good.......fan clutch performance degrades with time/miles. The spin test is weak at best. Something ain't right if it runs hot, especially if it runs hot in cold weather. Don't guess about any component in the XJ cooling system......summer's just around the corner.
