I believe the limited models came with an infinity amplified system, and a far as I know were the only ones to have an amplifier outside of the actual headunit itself

Along with an amplifier and subwoofer. Way too much to think about for somebody my age. So,I am going to replace it with a factory am/fm casette.
The original speakers and wires are still in it.------------GeezerD
Can you post some pics? If you really want to use the OEM head unit, which I do, you may still be able to use the amp and sub. It really depends on what the PO did. I have seen some good installs, and some really bad ones. In any event, you may want to consider upgrading the speakers. Do a search on speaker wires to fix the front ones before they break, if they have not already. If you do not have the original head unit, there are many on ebay. BTW, I am an old guy too. The Jeep is my daughter's.

Sorry if this is obvoius, but be sure to remove the + power wire to the amp. It should have been run all the way up to the battery. You don't want it shorting out on you.

Already took care of that. The power cable was bigger than my battery cable.------------------------GeezerD
