Default 2000 XJ drum size?

I need to figure out the size of my rear brake drum because i need to order new wheel cylinders, where do i measure from on the drum? i have them off i just dont know how to measure them, from the inside or outside of the drum?

I believe that you measure from the outside of the drum... or you could do what I would do and take it in with you so that they can match it up and have the right stuff for you. just my thoughts.

im ordering the parts online so taking them with me wont really work lol thanks tho

I measured mine from the outside and they were correct. Though I bought both 9" and 10"...they turn out to be 9".

so i flipped the drum over and measured outside to outside and it was about 10 5/8, then inside to inside was 9 and 3/16

If the outside of your drum is smooth it is a 9". If the outside has like gear teeth then it is a 10.

I believe the answer is 9 inches unless you have the police option, then it is 10 inches.

i hope they are 9, order wheel cylinders and new brakes shoes for 9" drums

That is correct. If the drums are off an easy way to tell is by the brake shoe width. The 10" shoes are 1 3/4" wide. The 9" are 2 1/2".
