Default 2000 xj couple questions

hi, new to the cherokeeforum but have been a jeep lover for years.

have a few questions about my 2000 cherokee. first off it has the 4.0. 4x4 dana 30 front, 8.25 rear, 231 transfercase.

i know the slip joint in the front driveshaft is bad. but i have a vibration in the rear when hammering it. only when hammering it. i feel it mostly when getting on the expressway.. any ideas?? i still have it when i take the front driveshaft out. so it cant be that.

all parts in the front end are new. ball joints, hubs, breaks, shocks, u-joints, bearings in the differential, and tie-rods.

the rear u-joints are good. everything looks solid.

also i have a set of 3 inch coils from bds brand new i am planning on putting on. i also have a add a leaf from bds too. it is the long add a leaf. just would like some feedback on pros cons. this is my dd and i am just lookin to put some 31's on it and drive it.

second i know jeeps have terrible electrical problems, well i only have one small problem. everything works in my jeep except for when i have my lights on the driver side amber is not lit up, but the blinker works. i have been told to check the ground, but maybe someone else has delt with this. both bulbs are good and no fuses are blown. i cant understand it.

thanks in advance for the help. ill pos pics of my heep soon.

Welcome from another MI Jeeper.

For the rear vibes it may be that the drive shaft is out of balance. Would be very noticeable at higher RPM's. You may even want to pull the rear diff cover and have a looksie that everything is in place. Plus the fluid swap wont hurt it.

AAL's are not bad but you will get mixed opinions. Main down fall is they will sag over time and if your rear springs are already shot it will just speed up the AAL sagging issue. But with 3" you will fit 31" tires no problem. Only concern is the vibe you already have in the rear as a lift may make the problem worse. So try and fix that before the lift.

Not sure about the blinker, Im not an electrical guy.

Good luck and what part of Michigan?

Even stock I bet you had fun. With 3" and 31" tires you will be surprised where the xj can take you.

Been to Silver lake myself, not a bad place. Just not much to crawl on.

Im in Ann Arbor.

I live at 24 and vandyke, surprised you havent seen me out and about. You talking about that italian restaurant on the east side of van dyke like 1/10 mile south of 24?
Haven't eaten there yet.

I have 3" rough country(springs and AAL), and 1.75" daystar (shackles and spacers)
