Default 2000 xj cold weather wont idle

so i bought my 2000 XJ in august and its run great until its started to get cold here in florida, it will start run for about two seconds and then stall like its not getting any fuel, or it will run until i get to the stop sign at my apartment complex and then stall when i stop. Is it the fuel pressure regulator or something injector related or something completely different? trying to figure it out if its something i can fix or if i need to take it to a shop

Stalling can be caused by many things. Here are a few of them.

1. A marginal electrical system. Load test your battery. Any parts store will do this for you for free. And yes, you can have a battery that is strong enough to start the engine, but marginal enough to give the engine management system fits. Verifying the battery is the first thing you should do.

2. A dirty idle air control and throttle body. They get carboned up over time and miles

3. Poor secondary ignition. Fresh spark plugs gapped to .035 should be installed if yours have over 30k on them. I recommend NGK coppers for the 00-01 engine.

4. Verifying fuel pressure if the above are verified is recommended. For your 2000, you should have 49 psi, plus or minus 5 psi

Default not running well

Listen to TJ, he knows his stuff.

I'll chime in and say this:

1. check your fuel pressure on the rail (in the engine compartment) - rent a gauge from Autozone and see if your pressure is 50 psi, and stays at that when you turn the key but don't start the engine, keep it there and it should stay at 50, if it drops suddenly you most likely have a bad fuel pressure regulator (and you need to drop fuel tank - might as well replace entire fuel module while you're at it, I did).
2. dirty or broken injectors - clean or replace them - use the 4 pin hole injectors over the single hole stock ones
3. dirty Idle Air Control - clean it - look up how
4. gremlins - don't get them wet
