Default 2000 XJ Chrysler 8.25 adjustments????

Well, I did a post a while ago asking what would cause my drive shaft to be loose, and I think I may have a different problem than what I originally thought. I think my pinion is very loose but, I cannot figure out how to adjust it, and I do not want to take it all apart and not know what to look for. The drive shaft seems to move a good inch before turning the tires and CLUNKS into gear and when down shifting t the point it shakes the steering wheel. So please, any help is greatly appreciated.
