2000 xj check engine light
I have a 2000 2wd 4.0 auto cherokee that is driving me nuts. My mom bought it new and it has 130k on it now.
Problems all started back in may. She left a cigarette burning in the ashtray and it burned the carpet, console, radio,ac panel, defrost panel etc. It sat until beginning of this month when I started working on it. I stripped it out and found it had only burnt two wires. The ones that go to the light for gear selection. It was not running when it caught fire and battery was unhooked until I made sure no wires were touching. I hooked battery back up and it started right up. No cel or anything. Drove it up the street and all was good. I left the interior light on by mistake and it killed the battery. So I jumped it off and it started up but was now charging 19 volts and the cel came on. I drove it up the street [1/8th mile] and back and shut it down. It was completely dead. So I took the battery to autozone and had it checked. Itr had 2 volts. I decided to try to charge it before spending the coin on a new one. It charged up and I put it back in and it fired right up. Only now the cel is on and its running terrible. Bucking, wont shift right, wont go in o/d etc. Had the codes pulled and it was tps, evap, trans, and 02 sensor. He cleared them and the light went off for like a second and came right back. Codes now say tps and evap. So I put a tps on it and same thing. Had them cleared and it came back instantly.
My question is could the overcharging have fried something? Pcm maybe? All fuses are good. The dash lights are not working but im not sure if they worked when I first started it back up after the 4 months orstopped working after the overcharge issue. I dont want to waste a bunch of money on stuff I dont need. Looks as though I wasted 50 bucks on the tps already. If it did fry the pcm then what years can I use? 97-01? Will it matter if its a 4wd or 2wd pcm? Anybody had a similar issue?
Thanks for any help

123 Is your TPS voltage is high.
443 Is Evaporative purge flow system solenoid not working properly.
LOTS of times if you correct the lowest code number, it will correct the others as well. Not sure what the high voltage on the TPS is about. Maybe someone else can chime in.

The charging problem never came back after I had the battery charged. I guess it was trying to charge the battery and went real high cause it only had 2 volts. Would that mess anything up? Why would it do that if it would?
