2000 Cherokee stalls after warm up
I started this thread in chat but it should have been here. Sorry.
I washed the engine, which is an inline 6, 4.0.
After re aligning the camshaft position sensor and clearing out codes it starts and warms up for 15 minutes and then dies like it was turned off. Basically warms up then dies
It ran great till I washed it.
It wouldn't stay running right after I washed it and followed some of the threads on here to get me to this point. I thought I had fixed it when it started up and stayed running. I took it for a drive and it died again. It will start up just fine but when it gets warm it dies. I can start it again but it will only run a few minutes then die.
Any thoughts?
Still having the same problem, starts, warms up, dies. Bought a code scanner, hooked it up and it says no error codes. Had scanner doing live data stream when it died and still it said no error codes.
I also posted these pics in photos but was trying to link them to this thread. Need to identify what this connection is. It is located by the camshaft position sensor. Its on a long bolt coming out of engine block. The pics show it plugged in and unplugged. Any idea?
Sorry for being all over the place. Bout at my whits end. Will never wash engine again. Thanks
P.S. of course this is the distributor-less engine

I have the same problem took it through some heavy water and it started stalling with no error code. Replaced the cps, pcm, pickup/camshaft position sensor, and it still cuts out. did you ever figure out whats wrong.

Nope! Still sitting in the driveway. Go out every now and then and start it but always dies. Did take it for a drive one day about 25 miles. It did great but the next day it stranded me 2 miles away. I'm baffled. Not sure what to do next. Sorry I'm no help.
