Default 2000 Cherokee Sport P1698 OEM Brand : Chrysler error

So Ive been reading a little bit about the check engine light I have now. So far I see someone says to check the connections to the TCM to make sure they are secure. Ive done that. Other notes say it may need to be replaced. Ive been told not to unplug it when the vehicle is running but it is ok to unplug it if it is not. I was also told there is a recall out on this but I dont know if my jeep is one of them and the service departments arent open until tomorrow. What else can I do?? Anyone have any other suggestions that I might be able to do today. I guess you cannot get a new one and swap it out because you have to have someone calibrate it. Any help would be great!!!

Here's the update any feedback? I had to take the jeep to the dealer and have diagnostic run. After waiting all dang day they said the PCM is bad not the TCM. They say the parts are $626.40 and $176.93. Now if I'm correct this is something I may be able to repair that does not deed to be calibrated like the TCM. Can anyone confirm this. From what I have been reading it looks like for the most part the problem with PCM is the stress the cables put on the solder. So if I can find which ones need fixed I can hopefully solder them back and make everything happy again. Please give me some feedback if you have any.
