It doesn't happen every time but 1/3 of the time when i go to turn the car off, I will hear a loud ting noise in the engine bay area or below the car, not sure where it's coming from. It sounds like someones hitting a tin can with another piece of metal, hard to explain. What could this be?

 

check the heat shield on your cat. may have a weld that popped
