what i meant was not lowering it. I got the rims and the system. all i asked was if anybody knew anywhere i could et gbodykits. i have another xj for off road. i didn't ask how many closed minded people want to chime in with there 2 cents on how what im doing to a jeep is just plain wrong. i dont care. im a mechanic myself not some dumb rich kid. i mod my vehicles thats what i do. so if anybody has any clue where i can find some or if anybody has any ideas on how i can get them they would be greatly appreciated
i looked on a couple body kit sites and couldn't find any
better bust out the fiber glass

if your going for a clean street jeep i would lower it also, chop the front springs and sprung under leafs to give it a nice 2" front 3" rear drop for a good stance

not every one on here is close minded, and there are a couple i have talked mini truckin with so you will have people to help you out

I don't see anything ricer about that body kit, besides the roof spoiler.
Lowered does not = ricer. I did like that the ricer "ugliest jeep ever" was at stock ride height though.
I would much rather see a street driven lowered XJ than someone rocking an 8" lift on their tarmac-only DD.
Which do you think is more common?

I always thought it would be cool to have 2XJ's
one for off road and the other lowered very slighting build the motor and turbo it, have it set up for track use and see what it runs. I think having a turbo XJ would be badass and setting up the suspension to handle the power would just make sense.
If he wants both worlds and loves the XJ body style let him be

I've seen one kit on a cherokee it was lifted but it had a lift with 31" tires. But it had a body kit on it. It looked like the kit wrapped around the whole jeep. I don't know who makes it or if it was a custom kit but it wasn't bad but a little to wide and made it look like a body widening kit. I've looked to see if a could find one on the web but nothing at all. I try to cut off everythin gon my jeep so I throw more mud
but we all have our own preferences

it's gonna be complex but not impossible.
you'd have to cut the floor on the back from tub to tub. weld c-notches on the rails, but you'd have to box the rails about 15-20" before and after the c-notches.
as light as the xj is, i'd recommend a coil-over conversion for the rear.
up front i'd weld on s10 upper and lower control arms and use s10 spindles. you can get all of this from a junkyard.
the better way would be to bag it. and u can use your ac compressor for air compressor.
i hope you studied your geometry in school, because you're gonna need it.
as for the body kit, you can use rigid foam blocks to mold your parts, and then coat them with fiberglass or plastic.

I wouldn't do it to my own xj, but I can respect the idea. If done right (and body lines kept near stock) it would probablt end up looking like an old boxy s10 with a cap.
I'm all for inventive mods. A bagged cherokee laying frame might look good if done tastefully

This site bashes people for wanting to lower an XJ (hopefully 2wd) but praises them for lifting a 2wd XJ? We shouldnt bash anyone this is a Cherokee forum, all things Cherokee. If this site is just about lifting/off roading then perhaps us stock XJs should find somewhere else to go? If you are going to disriminate you might as well throw all non lifted XJs in with the lowered XJs because if it isnt LIFTED then it is wrong? That seems to be the general consensus around here.
Maybe not everyone needs or wants a lifted XJ. Especially if it only sees street use. A lifted street only XJ isnt any better than a lowered XJ. Hecks let's bash the lifted street only XJs too, because after all real Jeeps are for off road.
If you can't help the guy then don't post.
JohnnieProphet... Until I saw the post about the "Ugliest XJ" I had never seen a body kit for a Cherokee. Since I have been without a rear bumper lately I have thought that a rear roll pan might look pretty clean. A front roll pan might work as well. But again I have never seen one. Good luck....

I have to agree here. Although most of us are primarily offroad guys, we also welcome stock cherokee's and those who wish to make street only rigs and lower them and what not. Granted some things may not be our personal taste but we do not have the right to bash anyone for their projects. Like Prerunner said if you can't help then WTH do you even post? Why must users be so negative? Is it truly necessary to be an **** all the time?
I really hate banning people but some of the posts that have been removed and still on here really dissappoint me. Bottom line either help or move on. If you have nothing productive then go stand in a corner and pick your nose or something. Maybe I should just start banning again ...
