personally, i like the boxy look of the xj. although i prefer to lift it, if i were into lowering trucks, i would do an xj. but i'd make it look good, not all cheesy like. stock looks good lowered.
as said, this is a cherokee forum, and even a lowered xj is still an xj, so let's give the guy a break. we're not all priks.
now, same as lifting, you'll prolly need some adjustable control arms and trackbar, maybe do a spring under in the rear with some blocks or air bags.
as for driveshafts, they should be fine, rear may be close tho.
you could just cut your coils down, if you know what you're doing. spring shop can help you out there.
it should be a lot easier than lowering a honda, we have no a-arms to deal with.
doesn't matter if it's 2wd or 4wd. 2wd still has a solid axle in the front. just different brakes/hubs etc.
do it, and take pics.

In the early '90s, I had an '84 Ramcharger 2WD that I had a warmed-over 440 w/727 tranny and D60 installed in, and it was lowered 4" in front and 6" in the rear. But it will always look like a Ramcharger.

why does everybody think it has to be photoshopped?
i've seen other vehicles that the frame not only rests on the ground, but the wheels are up off the ground, parked on the street at wasaga beach.
someone in florida should call that number and clarify whether it's real or photoshopped.
i would, but i'm in canada.
but really, that xj looks killer. i'd hit it.
(but those wheels look awful)

what i meant was not lowering it. I got the rims and the system. all i asked was if anybody knew anywhere i could et gbodykits. i have another xj for off road. i didn't ask how many closed minded people want to chime in with there 2 cents on how what im doing to a jeep is just plain wrong. i dont care. im a mechanic myself not some dumb rich kid. i mod my vehicles thats what i do. so if anybody has any clue where i can find some or if anybody has any ideas on how i can get them they would be greatly appreciated

Well I thought was fake because:
1) The tires are too big to fit on the inside with out modification, sure maybe there is 1.4L engine so the wheels can fit in the front but you should see some modification in the rear, there isn't any.
2) The XJ has no seats, a bullet hole in the front quarter window, and a missing front turn lamp, why is it at what appears to be some sort of auto show?
3) The truck behind the XJ seems to be missing a roof.
4) The people in the background are out of proportion.
But I found out where the pic came from: http://www.minitruckinweb.com/events.../pictures.html
Apparently its not a photochop.

This site bashes people for wanting to lower an XJ (hopefully 2wd) but praises them for lifting a 2wd XJ? We shouldnt bash anyone this is a Cherokee forum, all things Cherokee. If this site is just about lifting/off roading then perhaps us stock XJs should find somewhere else to go? If you are going to disriminate you might as well throw all non lifted XJs in with the lowered XJs because if it isnt LIFTED then it is wrong? That seems to be the general consensus around here.
Maybe not everyone needs or wants a lifted XJ. Especially if it only sees street use. A lifted street only XJ isnt any better than a lowered XJ. Hecks let's bash the lifted street only XJs too, because after all real Jeeps are for off road.
If you can't help the guy then don't post.
JohnnieProphet... Until I saw the post about the "Ugliest XJ" I had never seen a body kit for a Cherokee. Since I have been without a rear bumper lately I have thought that a rear roll pan might look pretty clean. A front roll pan might work as well. But again I have never seen one. Good luck....
