hi, new here. anybody ever heard of swapping the auto trans out of a 2000 classic to install a 5 speed?? I love my jeep but I hate the auto gearbox. Thanks!

 

Plenty of people have done it. You're best bet is to find a donor vehicle with everything you'll need to do the swap. Obviously, you need to be pretty handy with cars, have a good set of hand tools, and have a place to work on it for a couple of days. A good transmission jack will save you a lot of hassle too, and while you're in there get a good replacement clutch and get the flywheel resurfaced.
