Default 2000 cherokee acelleration problems

Hey everybody im new to the site and new to jeeps so im hoping this may be an easy problem. I just picked up a 2000 cherokee with a 4.0 and noticed if it put the pedal to the floor it bogs and almost stalls, if i give it gas gradually it goes fine and has plenty of power. I did a fuel pressure test and it held steady at 50 psi and pulled the plugs amd they looked fine. I was leaning twoards a coil or a tps but wanted to get some other opinions before i sunk money into it. The motor also has a ticking or rattling sound in the top end that sort of comes and goes. I would really appreciate any help, thanks

Have you had it scanned for pending codes? Is this same when the engine is hot or cold?

Top end noise is kinda normal hehe, could be crud built up or crappy oil or an actual problem.

The TPS has replaced the old carburetor accelerator pump function, richening the mix when you stomp the gas. Check for codes like Salad suggests, if nothing found, you might test the TPS.

It does the same thing hot or cold, and no codes or pending codes. Ill try some oil with a high zinc content

Or you could test the TPS.

Oil won't help with your acceleration issue... TPS testing is a good way to go.
