Welcome Newbie. You're looking for a head labeled TUPY. Use the search function for "0331" and "TUPY" and you will find a written up post that covers the whole subject. Which vehicles have the TUPY head that don't crack and where else you can get them.

I keep hearing Clearwater something or other in Florida provides the improved head design at a good price.

To clarify:

For a direct match, you're looking for a 0331 head. That's the casting number that corresponds to the port configuration of the head on the 2000 4.0L.

The original casting 0331 head had a casting flaw that caused it to crack. So if you buy a used or rebuilt head, you do not want an original casting 0331.

In 2002 Chrysler moved production of the 0331 head to the Tupy foundry in Brazil. Tupy mixed more nickel into the alloy to prevent the cracking issue. Tupy 0331 heads have the word "TUPY" cast into the top of the deck between the #3 and #4 cylinders. If you are buying a used or rebuilt Chrysler 0331, make sure it has this word cast into it. The Tupy 0331 is out of production, so you will likely find it impossible to find a new one.

Clearwater Cylinder Head in Florida sells a NEW casting 0331 made in China. It solves the cracking problem by just pouring more metal for a thicker deck. For some reason Clearwater goes by the name "Odessa Cylinder Head" on Ebay, but they're the exact same company.

Promaxx (formerly Alabama Cylinder Head) also sells a new casting 0331, but all I know about it is that it's $200 more expensive than the Clearwater head. At least it's another option.
