Default 2 into 4 wheel drive.

Please dont flame me too bad, I have searched and not come up with much in the way of answers. So, here goes. Im pretty mechanically inclined, and since I have "aquired" a couple of parts Cherokees, I am kind of curious. I have a 94 2 wheel drive with manual tranny, and 2 (dont remember the years off hand) 4 wheel drive with autos. How hard will it be to make my 94, which is my daily driver and the one I just love to death, into a 4 wheel using parts from the other 2. I would prefer to keep my 94 a manual shift. Havent done much in the way of research, but can I mate the T-case from an auto to the manual, or will I have to go on the "great chase"? Any and all opinions are appreciated.

I'm going to say no on the t-case fitting on the manual transmission, but only because I know a 2WD auto transmission cannot be adapted to 4WD without changing the tail shaft assembly, which is too long.

Other than that, swap the front axle, T-case, and transmission and bolt on the proper drive shafts. It's a lot of work, but doable.

I don't believe so, other than the lights for the transfer case shifter, the linkage is mechanical. There may be some work to get the 4WD lights on the dash to work, but all the plugs should be in place already.

Was about to say it would be cheaper to buy another as cheap as Cherokee's are...but if you've already got parts cars and have the skills go for it. Make a write up too.
