Default 1999 xj limited

I just bought a super clean 99 XJ limited for my wife and have questions about a reasonable lift. My first thought was whether the the rear drums can be changed out to the disc kit from teraflex because of the ABS etc. I also dont want to ruin the vehicle doing crazy things to the suspension as she will not be using it off road, but could benefit from more clearance and a bigger tire etc if that makes sense. Please advise. Thank you.

For your intended purpose you will be fine with stock brake setup. You could always add some fancy pads and rotors up front but I would leave the drums be.

With a 2" lift you would clear 30" tires and the OME stuff rides nice.

For the lift I would use 2.5" spacers up front. Rear 1.5" blocks and 1"-2" shackles. Then run 31s on stock rims. I loved my 99 sport like that. But could afford new 31s and had lift parts and 33s just sitting there. But if I had the money I would have left it like that being my dd and all. I also painted my stock steel rims black and got factory color for the center caps. Leaving the black middle and the jeep logo. My 99 is green and I thought it looked sharp.

You can change the rear drums to disc from 1994-1998 Grand Cherokee. Heres a few write ups.
