1999 xj angry crickets?
Recently did an exhuast manifold, (Dorman with the expansion parts) just bought the Jeep but I swear this isn’t normal, it has this twittling sound and gets pretty loud past 1/4 throttle, especially under load, almost sounds like it goes with the valves, it’s not the flex plate, balancer, or in the belt drive, I’m at my wits end. Everything has been smoke tested for leaks. 200,000 miles. Any ideas? Distributor bearing?

A couple of arms had very minor play when i did the valve cover gasket, rest were no play. tried tightening the bolts but it seemed like it required too much force (thread locked probably) so i left them alone. everything is oiled.
