Default 1999 jeep xj front drive shaft play

Hey guys, I have a 99 XJ 4x4. I was changing the front ujoints yesterday and when I was down there I noticed my front driveshaft has play in it. I can rotate shaft side to side about a inch. I thought nothing of because the ujoints were shot. When I got done replacing them the shaft was the same. I called my father in law out so I could be underneath when he put it in 4h and 4L. Even in 4wd I can move drive shaft. There is no clicking noise from tcase and part time light activates on dash

It's Normal. I don't know what the maximum acceptable amount is, but some rotation is normal.
