Default 1999 Jeep Cherokee A/C Problem HELP!

OK, I still have the A/C being defaulted to the defroster vents. I cannot find a vacuum leak under the hood. Called the dealer and they said it would be $500 labor plus a relay/motor for each vent at a cost of $37-$39 dollars. I don't really have a problem paying for this to have the A/C functioning again. Temps were 95 degrees yesterday and the heat index over 100 degrees. The dash has to be removed obviously but I was wondering if someone knows of a video online and I'll do it myself this weekend? Thanks in advance.

Go to the thread below and review the vacuum system in post #51. Look at the last pic. It shows doing a vacuum leak check of the system using a brake bleeder hand pump (Harbor Freight). Before shotgunning all the vacuum actuators, do the vacuum leak test and see if there's a leak in the system that you've overlooked. Also, do another close visual inspection of the tubes again.

When doing the leak check, turn the climate control Mode selector to each of the settings to see if there is any change at a specific setting.

You said you check all of the vacuum line. But, Did you check the vacuum ball it self for any cracks?
