what tranmission dose a 99 grand cherokee have? im looking for a tranny for my 98 xj and was wondering if the g.cherokee had the same....

Your 98 has the aw4, the 99 wj has the 45rfe. Zj's have an aw4.

No. GC had the AW4 only for one year- 1993, and only behind the 4.0

just to make it clear.....the 93 g cherokee aw4 wouldent work in a 98 xj, right?

An aw4 can work in a 98 zj but theres its not a simple plug and play theres wires that have to be bypassed
