Default 1999 Cherokee Sport Starting Issue

I have a 1999 Cherokee Sport that just got a new starter installed from a shop. Now, it starts normally for a few days , but then the starter gear will momentarily engage the flywheel then prematurely spin off before the engine kicks over. I can hear the starter gear spinning wildly. It doesn't matter how many times I try , it wont start. I tow it to the shop and it works fine there. I don't think its a flywheel tooth issue because sometimes it starts fine ... I think its a bum starter. They think its something else. It never did this with the old starter. That one just died from old age. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks JG

Yes many are junk rebuilds with to many old parts not replaced in them.
