I just got this Jeep (it's my first one) and it has a couple of things that need fixing, and I don't know where to start. I'm not that handy with cars, but am learning.
The problem right now is the heat does not work. Well, it doesn't get very hot, slightly warm at best. What should I start looking at to correct this problem?

Welcome to the board, and congrats on your Jeep!
A weak heater is usually caused by blockages in the heater core. If you do a backflush of the cooling system (you can find the parts for this procedure at most chain store auto part places) it will likely fix your problem.
Do a search on "flush" here in the forum, and you'll likely find a ton of information.
I did the same to my '99 a few weeks back and it worked like a charm. Good luck!
EDIT: VTJeep beat me to it... this is what I get for being a slow typer!

@spunkmeyer-
Well, in fairness my post was a little less formal.. At least it's the same suggestion! There was a good thread the other day about this.. Guy had to generate a lot of pressure in system before blockage would move, but now he claims the heat is scaldingly hot! Oh yeah!!
