Default 1999 Cherokee Power Steering

Power steering worked fine, but a leak under the high pressure line on the pump. I replace the line and added fluid. Started up and no power steering. What's up???

belt hooked up? Did you give it a few turns when you filled it back up with fluid? If not you could have run it dry and killed it. Is it making any noise?

Did not disconnect belt, and it is fine. I tried to turn wheel and very hard even when front wheels off ground. Never made any noises.

Belt ok. No noises before or after. Rotated wheels back and forth, no power steering. Even tried with wheels off ground, no change. Could the pump go bad that fast??

Probably air in the system. Jack front end up, take cap off reservoir and turn wheels lock to lock several times. Watch your reservoir as you turn your wheels lock to lock as you may have to add fluid, it’s easier with 2 people

Will try looking at pump reservoir and turning wheels at same time. I should see fluid moving, I hope...
