Default 1999 Cherokee leaking coolant from block

Hello all,

I have a 1999 Jeep Cherokee 2WD. The engine is leaking coolant from the block. This link is to a diagram http://autorepair.about.com/library/...bl825a-lib.htm ... The 2 larger circles slightly above and to the left and right of the coolant temperature sensor is where the leak is. Its only leaking from 1 towards the back of the block on drivers side. I'm not even sure what to call the origin of the leak. Any constructive input is appreciated.

Thanks.

Brian

Any chance you could post a photo? I've never had a problem with a freeze plug.... on any of my Jeeps.....Sometimes I stick my camera w/flash down in places I can't see. Finding and fixing it of course is best. I've had success using that powdered stop leak with a heater core leak. Also once a hose (pinhole)was squirting onto the block making it look like it was leaking. Don

Looks as though you do have a leaking freeze plug. Probably not too spendy. As long as it's drained and in the shop you might want to change others that are easy to reach, they are cheap. (last one I bought was 37c).

I added 2 photos to my album of where the leak is, as far as I can tell.

Thanks for the replies.
