Question 1998 XJ interior lights not working at all!

Just bought a '98 XJ with around 180k miles. Its a classic style, and has the overhead console. Was fixing some stuff up and cannot find the source of issue.

None of the interior lights work. When any door opens, (front/rear driver/passenger, hatchback) no lights come on. When you press on any of the lights, they won't come on. When you rotate the headlight switch all the way to the left, they won't come on. Nothing I do can make these lights come on!

I checked the wiring under the console just to be sure, and it was all seemingly connected properly. Have checked multiple sources, all say that IOD(number 16) fuse is also connected to radio, which works. Checked the fuse just to be sure, and its fine of course. I just can't figure out what it could be.

Anyone on here with more knowledge of the wiring, can you help?

Welcome to the forum!

It could be as simple as all the bulbs being burned out. Have you checked any of them?

If the bulbs are okay, check the grounds.

Thanks!

At first I ruled out the possibility that all 6(?) bulbs were just burnt out. Seemed a bit outlandish. But now reflecting I guess there are scenarios that could cause that. I'll check for sure; as with the grounds. I assume that each bulb has it's own grounding wire?
