Need serious help!

College student, my garage is an hour away. Jeep towed to apt after breaking down on hwy yesterday. Travelling 55mph and beginning to slow down to exit off hwy. Suddenly engine stalls, combined with a clunking noise that I'm not sure what it came from. Pulled over and noticed a fair amount of fluid pooling beneath keep (not sure what because ground was wet). Been having issues with starter solenoid but seems unrelated. Has auto tranny, nearly 200k miles. Been worried about transmission due to previous owner's behavior off road. Only code is p0743 Torque converter clutch electrical malfunction. I'm not an expert and most of my tools are unavailable to me at the moment.

I can hear fuel pump on. Have voltage on battery, fuel level sensor working.

My only vehicle, need to get back on the road asap. What went wrong and how do I fix it? Feel free to inquire about what I left out.

Was it oil, like motor oil? Cause there’s a chance you blew a rod out. But what exactly is happening? Will it not crank, or will it crank but not start?

If you can tell us the color of the fluid we can speculate.

Man it would really help if you knew if it was oil, coolant, or transmission fluid.

If you couldn't tell then it makes me want to think it was coolant. It would blend in the most with wet pavement or ground. Oil type fluid would be darker and just kind stand out...like yeah, that's oil.

Check your oil level. Check your coolant level at the radiator cap. What happens if you try to crank it?

I feel silly.

Problem ended up being that the rotor within distributor had fallen apart, along with the lead wire from the ignition coil to distributor had major corrosion. Cheap, easy fix. Just took some testing. Thanks for everyone trying to help.

As for the fluid, the water just made my normal oil leak look bad.

And the strange sound when I stalled-- I never could find the source of that. Seems fine though.

I also replaced the crank sensor before anything else. Common issue.

I would say the noise was when the rotor broke and it fired the wrong cylinders and maybe backfired .
