1998 Jeep Cherokee 4.0 motor
First post and hello! I've been a Cherokee owner for quite some time now and have to say I have been thoroughly impressed with the durability of these vehicles. Unfortunately my motor let loose due to overheating. Couple of questions concerning that.
-What years of long blocks will fit in a 1998 Cherokee? I plan on swapping only the block and head and reusing everything that came off the old motor with the exception of the obvious. I have yet to find a clear cut answer to what year motors will fit? Anyone?
-Where is the best place to find a long block? Craigslist etc.?? I'm not looking for a top of the line motor but something I can stick in the Jeep to get me from point A to B.
-Anything unusual about performing a motor swap in a 1998 Cherokee? Looks rather straight forward and easy.
Thanks in advance for the responses and answers.

You'll want to be careful when reusing your head. Although the 0331 head gets all the glory, earlier heads can crack if overheated as well. I'm not saying not to use what you have - just check it out and make sure it's happy prior to install.
