1998 cherokee E brake holds the vehicle in place but the handle does not stay engaged
Hello,
Recently my E brake has ceased to hold in place when i engage it. It makes the clicking sounds as you pull up but when you let it go it simply falls completely into the disengaged position. If I hold the handle up on my own in neutral it will keep the jeep in place no problem, there just seems to be an issue with the lever/handle itself. How can I fix this?

This happened to me and I ended up replacing the e-brake handle. It's about 60$ to buy the assembly at the dealership, but would be a lot cheaper to find one at a junk yard.
Before I replaced it, I read up on this a lot. Fairly common problem. There have been some people who have used glue or jb weld to fix the button that holds it in place.
