Default 1997 Jeep Cherokee With AW4 Trans, Shifting Problem, PLEASE HELP.

I have shifting problems with AW4 Transmission, it will not shif from 1st to 2nd. DBI says Shift solenoid B stuck but i have checked them i get 13 to 15 oams on them all, also applied 12v current and they all click, checked connections, replaced TCM And ECM, and Battery. still no luck. I can unplug the TCM and Manualy shift through all the gears work fine. Any Sugestions. Thank You.

sounds like you need to adjust your kickdown cable.

Default Got it Fixed Today

Thanks for the reply pal I already knew about the kick down cable adjustment, But i checked it anyway. Then i remembered changeing tht TPS a year or so ago, I put the old one back on and it shifted evrything but OD, SO i bought a new one and installed it, and it shifted fine, But gave me a bad TCM code never done that before, I had one i got from a junker, so i installed it also. Now it works great. Thanks Very Much.

Whenever you have a transmission shifting problem, after verifying condition and level of fluid on the dipstick, the #1 thing to do is test the throttle position sensor.

It has a direct effect on shifting characteristics.
