1997 cherokee 2.5 engine in an 86 cherokee?

1997 cherokee 2.5 engine in an 86 cherokee?
I recently found a good deal on a 2.5 out of a 97 Cherokee. And i was wondering if its the same as the 2.5 in my 86? Like could i do a clean swap or would i have to screw with stuff? Any help is greatly appreciated
