So, I have this 1998 jeep Cherokee automatic, 4.0 4x4, in it has a 1996 jeep Cherokee HO 4.0 4x4 engine and auto transmission that have both been rebuilt.... So my question is will the 1998 jeep engine wire harness/computer work with the 96 engine or will the entire harness have to be swapped, I want to avoid swapping out harnesses because the plug ins to the fuse adapters are very different plus the dash plug ins! And I also matched up where each connector should go and they have the same number wires going to each connector on the engine.. I can read a schematic to figure out the wire, but would it be okay to splice a few connectors from the 1996 harness to the 1998 harness to make it work?! Any feedback would be great thanks!!
