driver's side, snapped this evening when opening the door. 2nd time this has happened in a few years. previous one lasted 2 years. most recent 2 months. both purchased off eBay. is this just a quality control issue? the problem is not the pin that typically causes the clunking noise. I think the failure is coming from the assembly itself, one of the pins that holds the proximal arm in place by the coils. here's what it looked like when i removed it. the assembly slid right off the arm. anyone have this as a reoccurring problem? door hinges appear in proper alignment. should I be getting the check arm from the JY or dealership? any good hacks to avoid replacing this every year? Thanks in advance.
Yeah, that looks like a cheapie...I snagged mine from Team Cherokee and it's appears to be better quality and held up great.. They have both the check and the door bracket if you need them...LINK
