Hello, i am new to the site and saw that everyone is pretty helpful, i even gained a few tips in the past few weeks but i have a pretty specific question that i need answered pertaining to the peugeot to an ax-15 tranny swap.

my jeep cherokee is a 1987 4wd with the I6 "of course" and i am FINALLY getting rid of the french lack luster transmission that is pretty much completely blown, so i went to a yard and got a 1996 ax15 transmission with the transfer case and i have read about the swap but the question that i dont see asked or answered is.

If my old '87 uses a speedometer cable and the 1996 uses electric, then i will have to replace the gauge cluster, will this be an issue? i hope not but i want to know so i know what to expect and what ill have to do. if i can change it out what will i need to do to make it work, and will it be possible to get a cluster with a tach?
