I just bought a 1995 Xj with a 2 inch lift and 31s, and it had a really crappy head unit it. I pulled it out (it was wired horribly) and Put in my headunit from my explorer. It only works with the Constant, and Switched wires touching, and the door locks, dome lights, and dash lights only work with the key in the ignition. I have no clue what is causing this. Any suggestions?

 

what are the switched wires? did you have any issues with the door locks, dome, or dash lights before you changed out the head unit?

 

Everything worked just fine before I switched out the head unit, so I have no idea whats going on.

Head unit wiring red wire constant power from battery, yellow wire to a switched (keyed) spot on fuse box. Blue wire to amp . I would run all new wire from battery to head unit and amp.

 

It turns out not only do my door locks, windows and dome lights not work, but also my blower motor isn't working. All of these worked fine before the radio was put in. I checked all of my fuses and they're good. So now what?
