Default 1995 XJ needs new np242

Ok here is my question. I blew my 242 to pieces the other morning. I found another for a really good price. It is from a 2000 XJ. Will it work?

Rear output is different, you'd need another driveshaft

Got any pics of the old 242 and how it blew up?

It looks like the differential is still in one piece so the rear main shaft should be okay. The tail cone and output housing are both intact. Unless something is damaged that I can't see, you should be able to move the housing and tail cone and shaft. No need to move the diff and I wouldn't do it anyway.
