Default 1995 xj jerking while driving

HELP! I have a 1995 xj that jerks while going down the road like it has a severe miss. It is a very random thing and does not throw a code when it does it. It has new plugs, cap, rotor bug, and coil. I have never had problems with this jeep until now. Any suggestions?

Throttle position sensor or idle air control valve would be my guess

Wouldn't that throw a code?

A 95 is not OBDII and won't be as sensitive to set codes every time you fart near the engine. Best thing to do is check the range of the tps with a scan tool, or have a shop check it out for you, it will be cheaper than throwing parts at it.

I've read elsewhere that a failing TPS will not always generate a diagnostic code: http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f9/wi...w-code-291942/

I had to replace my TPS over the weekend and that's when I ran across the info. Mine however did generate a code...
