Default 1995 Jeep Cherokee

1995 Jeep Cherokee Sport 4.0L 100,000 miles

Going for a shot in the dark here...I just replaced my fuel filter and noticed two "bumper guards" ( one on each side) bolted onto the bottom of the frame right above the rear axle. Asked a buddy of mine what they could be and he said they could be some sort of bumper guard that prevents the axle from striking the frame while going over bumps, etc. Well they need to be replaced as they are dry rotted. Any ideas where I can get them, the cost, and if anyone even knows what the heck I am referring to? Thanks!

I don't know where you can get the parts but one thing I do know. You do not have a V6... A 4.0 is a straight 6.
Good luck on finding your parts. I do know that someone on here can give you the info you need.

Just something I noticed when looking for replacement bump stops for our Jeep - there are long and short sized bump stops 4.1" and 2.9" fitted, mine (what was left of them) looked like 2.9" but I had trouble finding the shorter ones. I guess I will just get the longer ones http://www.quadratec.com/products/52422_01.htm and cut 1.1" off the top of them
