Default 1995 clutch pedal return spring location?

My friend and I are doing an ax-15 swap on his 93 using parts from a 95. On my 93, the return spring clips into the pedal and then to a hole in the pedal assembly. Where does it go on the 95? There's no hole in the pedal for the spring. The 95 assembly with a totally smooth pedal.

The assembly on my 93.

If nobody has a good answer, once the kids are asleep I'll run out and check my 95.

I can't see a spring of any kind up there. I was using a lighted inspection mirror and can't see anything.

Is it possible it's integrated into the master cylinder or something? Looking around online it appears the spring is available up to 93. Diagrams don't show a spring.

I'll take another look in the daylight tomorrow.

Note from DJ
Dose one of you have an internal slave cylinder and the other an external slave cylinder?

94+ uses an external slave
-93 uses an internal slave

So yes - they are different.

I would imagine the OP would be using the external slave bellhousing off the 95 along with the whole AX15 assembly.
