So my ‘95 blew the heater control valve down the road from my house a few weeks ago and sent coolant everywhere. I managed to limp it home, thought about bypassing the valve but decided just to replace it for now. Finished buttoning everything up and took her for a spin. Idled fine, ran fine, but on the first left turn I clutched in, braked, and the engine died. Pulled over and she didn’t wanna start so I decided to wait a few minutes, and after about 5 she started up pretty much immediately. Yet again I limped home and noticed that if I let off the throttle after accelerating the engine would die. So the troubleshooting began.
Replaced:
- IAC
- TPS
- CPS
- Battery
- Cleaned Grounds
- Redid battery cables
- Cleaned engine bay
- Checked wires and plugs
Still hasn’t wanted to work even after all that. No signs of head gasket damage or any internal issues. Did notice white smoke from two of my spark plugs, not sure what that’s all about tbh and an above average amount of white smoke from under the oil fill cap. I’m running out of time and money so if anyone has ideas, I’m all ears.
