Ok, I have a 96 sport 4.0 with 180000 miles on it. It runs great until it starts warming up outside. When I drive for awhile and then stop and run into a store or whatever and go to start it up it runs funny. How to describe it, almost like its missing. Then after you get going for a few minutes its ok. I had a 2000 Sport with only 50000 miles on it a few years ago that did the same thing. (God rest his crunched up shell, hit by a drunk driver a destroyed him). Anyway if anyone out here knows something that I should try, please let me know. The plugs, air cleaner, etc have all been done. Thanks for any and all answers.

 

have you heard off heat soak it has to do with injectors getting hot

Also if anyone knows, 4wheeldrivehardware doesnt sell a throttle cable for a 95, does a 96 fit mine, it goes from 96-01.

 

Im guessing you changed the cap and rotor already, but if you havent you could give it a try
