1994 Cherokee Tranny issues
hey there my names zach and i just got this '94 Cherokee SE from my brother for $400. now when i first got it i already knew it had minor leaks, (radiator leak, power steering leak, and oil leak). now none of these leaks are major so ive neglected them unfortunately, but it hasnt stopped running or any major problems so ive figured i could handle the issues when i get paid in a few weeks. but my issue right now is that ive got a tranny leak... theres a small black plastic peice located on the dricers side of the tranny that i do believe is a vent, but im getting a drip leak when its not running from around that plastic peice where the plastic meets the housing. ive tried to seal it temporarily with an oil resistant gasket sealer but i dont think im getting the leak. sighs, im getting frustrated over this little leak because it all started with a simple hose coming un-done and my draining all the fluid out on accident to me finding the loose hose, fixing it, and trying to put tranny fluid back in and it pouring everywhere...
i know i didnt really specify anything in this thread, but if it seems like you know what im talking about and you think you could help me please do because im only 20 with a three year old and a fiance that im trying to support.
thank you so soo much

I'm trying to fix it myself that way I know its done right. I mean I'm not completely mechanically stupid, I had a 71 ford ranchero that I worked on daily to get it perfect but idk I'm just trying to do what I can :/

Found out the issue. I originally got the jeep from my brother and he told he it took sixteen quarts, I followed up on jeep forum . Com and someone said something about it only taking twelve and on top of that I forgot about the other two thirds of fluid that was in the torc converter. My issue was that I thought I had a leak when in reality it was an overflow valve :/ don't make the same mistake as me! Darn I'm such a newbie
