Hey guys... I sold my 1992 XJ Laredo this week and i'm picking up my new 1999 XJ this weekend. Wanting to know what the main differences are that ill notice in the 99 compared to the 1992??? Anyone ever owned both?
Both have the 4.0... 4x4... Tow pkg... 99 is a sport model i think... thoughts?
BTW did i say im psyched! it only has 89,000 miles and a rebuilt tranny!!!

I had both a 92 and now a 98, love the new interior....but miss the old jeep, a lot less issues, and it was a 5spd. The tow package is nice and power options are nice as well. I still think the old one was a better unit....
Good luck with your new one!

99 Has 29 spline rear shafts on your C8.25 which are much stronger then the 27 spline, the 99 has a high flow intake manifold and is the most desirable because it allows the best flow into the head because emmisions were increased that year. It also has a High Pinion front axle, not sure if the 92 had the same or not, stronger U-joints and updated interior and exterior.
