ok heres the situation, my pedal is hard as a rock and I have little braking power. earlier today after i shut off my jeep i heard the pressure pump chugging very slow. it has been getting weaker and weaker as far as the pump sound goes for the last yr or so. so here is my question: will pulling the relay disable the power abs and get me to "normal" brakes and if so WHERE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE UNDER THE HOOD IS IT?(ive seen several posts mentioning this but no one describes exactly where. i have looked in my chilton manual too) if this wont fix my problem i know the pump and another part other than the accumulator are under a lifetime wty but can i just go to the dealer and say "i want just these 2 parts replaced, i know the pump is bad based on the slowing of the pump sound." or will they want to keep it and tell me they will replace the parts only if they replace ...? other parts as well.

 

there should be under your dash there is a computer for the abs unplug that see what happens or have leak in the system

 

Ive heard not to pull the fuses/relays on a bendix system or you will lose ALL braking power after a few stops. I cant tell you if its true or not, but thats what I have heard. I dont have ABS, one less thing to worry about. lol

 

I have abs and its unplug didnt do anything but the abs didnt work but the abs didnt work good first

It won't work, the pump is the brake booster, if you remove the relay it will get worse.
