1990 xj ABS swap to 2000 XJ Master Cylinder
I just purchased a 90 xj with the crappy Bendix 9 ABS system. I decided to do the master cylinder conversion swap and I found a 2000 cherokee at my local junkyard. I pulled off the master cylinder, pump, and proportion valve. My question is if the brake lines are going to fit? I've read that I needed to replace the front lines and I could keep the same rear lines. Is this true? I contacted a jeep junkyard and the guy told me that he has the lines from a 1996. I know 96 - 01 are very similar, but since I have a 90, I'm wondering if the rear lines need to be replaced as well. Also if anyone else has done this conversion using similar parts off of a newer cherokee. Some of the post I've read talk about small modification that need to be done. I know I need to de-pressurized the system, but what about all the wires from the ABS system? Any info will help!
