I just bought a 1990 2 door Xj, and im having to do a brake job on it. But i was wondering if i should replace the front wheel bearings. The PO didnt do much to keep the jeep running. When im rolling down the street i can hear a squeaking coming from the front left tire. Ive never owned a 4x4 vehicle and i dont know what things to expect when doing a brake job? any advice would be greatly appreciated.

pry a ujoint, wheel bearings are more of a grinding noise.
Shouldnt be loose at all or sound like this

Haha sad part is my do sound like that, this jeep was beat to Sh** when i got it. but cant complain for 1000$ ride,

It already has a 2in Rough Country lift on it.
ive replaced the valve cover gasket (cheapy cork one)
cleaned the Throttle Body and related sensors

How hard would it be to replace a u-joint?
And right now i have to fix the Vac system because it wont engage the front axle right now. I was going to do the mod with a Tractor PTO cable and see if it fixes it

the vac lines werent connected when i bought it, ive sense re attached them. but still no luck.

Thats pry your squeak then.
Ujoints can be a PITA if theyre rusted. If not rusted, theyre not too bad.
BFH, 2 big sockets, and a little time.
You could always do the free cad fix.
I think the ujoint replacement is in the writeups, along with my CAD writeup.
