Pushrods bent? Pull a rocker and find out.

No bent rods. Been awhile.

It's been in 3 different shops since I was last here, none of them could tell me what was wrong with it. the last one it was in thought it could be something wrong with the secondary ignition system (whatever that is) but could confirm without tearing down the engine? Idk. They fixed my parasitic draw and short that was killing the engine while I drove though.

Bought an REM to get a better look at the dang thing. The only things that were weird was it couldnt decide if it wanted to run rich or lean, and kept fluctuating rapidly. It was a at a air fuel mix of 16, then it would misfire and drop to 14.2, then back up to 16 continually, never hitting the 14.7 required.

O2 sensor is getting 0.04v to 4.7 v of power fluctuating rapidly, but to my understanding shouldnt it have a constant 2.5v? Buying a new one, but current one is hardwired in..no connectors. So I'm gonna have to source a Male plug somewhere.

Egr closed in open loop, once it warms up and switches to closed loop the egr doesnt open, and as to my understanding it's supposed to, correct?

Compression, Vacuum, fuel pressure all still perfect. Injectors are pulsing every 5.2 m/s I believe, I'd have to double check those numbers.

I wanna say timing but compression makes me question that. When we swapped in the new timing chain and sprockets it pretty much fixed the issue, then it got worse again. I suppose we could pull the cover AGAIN to double check, but I'm 99% sure everything was lined up correct.

I'm lost.

There should be no play in the rockers. You may have a flat cam.

Anyway to confirm this without pulling the engine lmao. Compression is perfect, I'm assuming a worn cam would show there right?

At cranking speed? Might not show. Might not BE flat, just headed that way.
No matter what, that kind of clearance is a huge red flag.

Alrighty. If the almighty cruiser says worn cam, I'm gonna trust it and say it's probably a worn cam. Vacuum at idle is good, but something fishy is obviously up and I've done everything else except tear it down so...here goes nothin.

Also, o2 sensor is functioning properly according to REM, but the wiring is definately not correct. Its spliced into the harness, no pigtail connectors.

Mushed push rods? Compare with ones that do not have play?
