My sending unit is broken where the tube exits the top of the sending unit the round plate that holds it in place, it can slide up and down the tube so the pump is basically wiggling around in the tank

I am missing the rubber cone piece tho it's gotta be in there somewhere oh well I'm ordering/ the whole thing it's just to janky for me, I hope this fixes it....

probably not

I think a new IAC will be ordered to I took it out to clean it and the little little thing went flying. Is it supposed to be able to do this??

So, I had the exact same situation you described on my 94 XJ and after a compression test, cylinders 2,4 and 5 were insanely low. I ditched it for an 89 with low miles got it for $400!!) but out of curiosity I took the head off. Piston rings and walls were worn to hell. A rebuild would have been in order.
